Great Pairings in History

Things that go well together: Wine and cheese. Beer and cheese. Pretty much anything and cheese. A run and a podcast.

I like listening to podcasts while I run because I feel like running is the kind of mind-clearing activity that allows you to really absorb what you’re listening to. And podcasts are generally great because there are literally thousands of experts out there offering to share their content and point of view for free and all you have to do is listen. See how well those go together?

Today I present to you: a 5k and the GaryVee Audio Experience, a great pairing in the making. I love Gary Vaynerchuk’s perspective for so many reasons, and I won’t bore you with all of them. But if you’re looking for just one reason to give him a shot on your next run: he strikes a remarkable balance of optimistic yet humble, in a way that you really have to listen to understand.

If you’re reading this and you need to start over. Or you’re unsure of what’s next in your career. Or you just want to feel some hope in these truly insane times, then I highly recommend giving a listen to The Formula for Thriving in Chaos on your next run. It’s 31 minutes (perfect 5k length including a stretch or a cool down for faster runners) and it really hits home if you’re feeling a little lost or scared right now and trying to figure out what’s next.

Added bonus: here’s my favorite 5k route around Astoria Park. Try the pairing and let me know what you think!
